Look for the red flags
SIGNS OF AT-RISK INDIVIDUALS:
- Multiple placements through child welfare
- Much older or controlling partner
- Frequent or unexplained injuries
- Secretive about whereabouts or caregivers
- Possesses expensive items without a clear source
- Withdraws from family and friends
- Unusual knowledge of multiple urban areas
- Untreated injuries Inconsistent stories
Examples of Concerning Situations:
- Someone forms an unusually close bond with a person they only know online.
- A person is suddenly showered with gifts, money, or rushed into an imbalanced relationship.
- A job seeker is charged fees for a work opportunity.
- Someone living with a guardian shows signs of abuse.
- A job offer seems too good to be true.
- A frequent runaway may be staying with someone other than a guardian.
- An employer withholds a contract or requires signing in an unfamiliar language.

Are you being trafficked?
If you are under 18 and trading sexual acts for anything of value,
the answer is yes.
If you are 18+ and have been forced, pressured, or tricked into engaging in a labor or commercial sex act,
the answer is yes.

About the Program
WAIT House partners with the Warren County Safe Harbor Program to build awareness of the impact of human trafficking on our local community. We work with youth to help them escape trafficking situations and build independence.

Who is eligible?
Youth ages 13-21 who have or are at-risk of being trafficked or sexually exploited.
Program Services
- Identification of youth who are or are at-risk of trafficking
- Counseling & Case Management
- Information and referrals to other service and health agencies
- Advocacy
- Education and Training for local schools, agencies, first responders and health care providers on recognizing the signs of trafficking and responding
